Boys hockey team wins MTC Powerplay contest with Pat Quinn and Denis Brodeur

In the fall of 2008, Nicole Doré of Montreal visited the Making the Connection website and registered for the 5-step program so she had access to tools to make some important lifestyle changes. At the same time, she entered the MTC Powerplay contest for the opportunity to win a once in-a-lifetime hockey coaching and photography session with Pat Quinn and Denis Brodeur.

After she was informed that she was the selected winner of the contest, Nicole decided to donate this once in-a-lifetime opportunity to her colleague, Réne-Claude Turgeon, so that Rene’s son’s hockey team, a Pee-Wee B team from Ville Sainte-Catherine, called the Coyotes, could enjoy the prize.

The Coyotes, ages 11 through 12, are very excited to meet the two hockey legends in April and look forward to learning some new hockey tricks from Pat and having their practice professionally photographed by Denis.

Winner of the Haute Couture For Your Heart contest looks forward to her heart-healthy getaway

After watching Jean Airoldi discuss women and heart disease and the Haute Couture For Your Heart campaign during one of his television shows, Diane Laberge of Montreal decided to visit the Making the Connection website and register for the 5-step program and contest. Having experienced a cardiovascular incident in the past, Diane felt the 5-step program would be a great resource as she took action to reduce her risk for another incident by making healthy lifestyle changes.

As the selected winner of the contest, Diane will enjoy a $1,000 shopping gift certificate, time with a personal trainer and dietician and a trip to Toronto to attend the Heart Truth fashion show on March 17, 2009.

Diane is thrilled to be the winner and has also expressed a desire to donate a part of her prize to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, as this organization is very dear to her heart.
